Squirrels are our youngest members, and generally meet for an hour per week. They enjoy all that Scouting has to offer; being introduced to outdoor activities, having the opportunity to be creative, explore their local community and experience the excitement with their friends.
What it's like:
The Squirrel Drey is the youngest section of the Scout Group. Beaver Scouts are young people aged between 6 and 8 years old. There is core flexibility in the age range: young people can join from age 4, and can move to Beavers between age 5 3/4 and 6 1/2.
When: Wednesdays
Time: 16:45–17:45
Where: 6th Banbury (St Hugh’s) Scout Centre
The Squirrels take part in a variety of activities from week to week that may include games, exploring, investigating or even having a visitor. The programme is planned to include core badgework, incorporate specific events, build links with our local community and the World around us. We aim to offer our Squirrels a variety of activities and experiences that are fun and appeal to their interests, keep them motivated and give them new insights. The Drey is a wonderful place to gain confidence in being independent and make new friends too!
Squirrels can earn lots of different badges as they try new activities and develop new skills!

Sessions run weekly for an hour. Children need comfy clothes, indoor shoes, and a drink bottle. Parents are welcome to stay at first if that helps their child settle.

Around age 6, Squirrels can move up to Beavers. We make it a small celebration and help them feel ready for the next step.
